DIY things that you can make at home

In this day and age, we just can’t get enough of a good DIY project. It’s not only a perfect way of making something unique, but it’s also ideal for keeping costs low. It’s pretty awesome making something and being able to take pride in something you have created. Here are some great DIY projects you can easily do at home.

Sharpie kitchenware

It’s great, because it’s so simple and easy, but makes something amazing. Whether you want Christmas themed plates or to create the perfect mug for your office coffee, sharpies and plain kitchenware got you covered. If you want to make sure it stays on, then you can bake it in the oven for a few minutes to ensure that your designs won’t fade.

Nail polish key covers

Who needs to go around buying covers for their keys when you didn’t even realize you had the perfect solution in your drawer already? All you need to do is decide on your color schemes, grab the nail polish you have, and paint away! It stays on nicely, and you can then distinguish between your keys.

Glitter glasses

You can basically glitter anything with the right tools. So, whether you want to create an awesome glittery drinking glass or find an old pair of shoes and add some glamor to them, you only need to have two things. Mod podge and glitter. You can choose any color, follow the guidelines for the mod podge, and you’ll be good to go. It can transform anything if you do it right, and you don’t have to spend a fortune finding it. Instead, you can make it.

Homemade necklace holder

Woodwork and driftwood are massively in right now, so you can basically pick up any piece you find and turn it into something. Choose a lengthways piece of wood, you can choose for it to be as big or as small as you want. The idea is that it becomes wall-mounted, so make sure it’s a piece you can hang up. Next, all you need to do is find some cheap furniture knobs, they come in all kinds of cool shapes and sizes, and screw them in. Once you’ve done this, you have a totally unique necklace holder.

A leisurely body pillow

Sometimes, one pillow isn’t enough. If you want something you can take anywhere with you and lay wherever you want, all you need to do is gather five pillows. You can decide whether you want to have all five totally the same, or whether to mix and match. Sew them together, and you automatically have something you can fold up and lay wherever you need to take it. Who doesn’t need a little extra luxury and comfort in their lives?

Recycled leather and wood shelf

You will need two wooden boards, roughly around 5” by 30” long. For your recycled leather, just grab two or four long leather belts. You will also need some carpet tacks or nails, a hammer, a measuring tape, and a pencil. Mark two inches in from either side of the wooden pieces, trap the belts, and make sure they’re looped identically. Hammer three nails into the bottom, so the belt and the wood are now fixed together. Get the second board and place it ten inches up, nailing it in through the belt. Now, just hang it on your wall!

Home projects are fantastic, and make your life and home totally customizable.
